How It Started

About a year ago, I took my first class at Lobos Boxing Club. The biggest impression it left me with was Coach Eddie’s boxing knowledge and the Lobos gym culture. It felt like the perfect place to learn technique, improve conditioning, and create an accessible atmosphere for beginners and advanced fighters.

I am a co-founder of a startup called Ravyn. When you’re in the early stages of crafting a new business, the hours are long, grueling, and emotionally draining. Admittedly, I didn’t take the best care of myself. Everything from sleep deprivation, diet, and long hours sitting on a computer wasn’t doing me any favors. But working out and boxing at Lobos helped changed my mindset and discipline.

How It’s Going

One of the biggest challenges I face is “father time”. Any fighter or boxing practitioner knows that age has a perfect undefeated record. Ever since I first started practicing boxing, I built my style on speed. But now in my later years, I’ve noticed the things I used to get away with, don’t work as much as they used to. Now that it’s 2023, I have lofty goals for both my personal and work life: have a successful launch of our startup and elevate both my conditioning & boxing skills to a whole new level.

The Beginning of the Journey

Today starts a 6-month journey to reach my goals. I’m super thankful and humbled to have Coach Eddie Arrazola share his boxing knowledge and provide me with a strength and conditioning program. It will be no small feat to change my boxing style built on speed to one that is more rounded and defensively driven, but I welcome the challenge and it’s going to be fun to accomplish.

I’ll be blogging my progress here often. It also serves as an entertaining way to hold myself accountable. And it’s going to be fun to look back on the blog and see what I’ve been able to accomplish with Coach Eddie and Lobos Boxing Club!
